Licensed to Kill

final

Finally! My 1st post for the year 2013 is finally up on my blog! Without further ado, let me take you on a rough ride!

I’m no killer. Don’t you worry. ;) hihi That wasn’t meant to scare you off. It was just my weird way of showing you my dark side…..literally, that is. *wink wink*

Black sounds boring to many but it’s the other way around for me. I think black’s the easiest to pair with….well practically, ANYTHING. And oh, add in white to the list. I just thought of making a post about how you can play with black and white. uhmmmm…. might do that next time.

5

If I’m not mistaken, this might be the first look I posted with me wearing black on black. Guess it’s pretty fun to break old habits once in a while, right?

Tricky tip: Why don’t you try walking on the other side of the road? Wear colors / styles which you haven’t tried yet. In that way, you won’t get bored of dressing up. Who knows? The style you’re about to try might be the best one for your body type. ;)

The metal studs on the collar are just nothing but EDGY.

I love how Mr. Sun pours in light whenever I take pics of my look. Yep, I didn’t use an app for that. Once again, thanksie Mr. Bright Sun!

Don’t be fooled by my fierce looks (?), I’m still the jolly kid who happens to write random stuff here. The proof? THIS:

The Sun Will Shine

Heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeey there!!!!!
You might be wondering where on earth I have been….
I can’t even figure where to start. To cut the long story short, I’ve just journeyed through what I can recall as the most treasured and memorable part of my life that I wasn’t able to visit the blogosphere for the longest time. Sorry to keep you hanging for 3 months (What?? Was I gone for 3 long months?) O.o I barely noticed.
Well, worry no more for I am back! *insert a wide grin here*
I’ve got tons of stories to tell you and I’ll try to share them in my blog anytime soon.
For the meantime, let’s talk about what I wore yesterday.

a

You might have noticed the lovely rays of the sun which kept me wondering how they got into my pictures.
Maybe mother nature was just trying to help. hihi

e

Red and black may be the first choice for those who are brave enough to conquer the grungy look. Just wanted to outwit that notion. It doesn’t have to be that way all the time. You can go from hip and grungy to classy and girly in striking red and black, see?

h

c

You may opt to add golds and pearls to soften the look. With the right accessories and footwear, you’ll surely pull it off.

f

The best part of wearing something red or anything striking is that you don’t have to wear too much accessories because the color speaks for itself.

Tricky tip: Notice how the lacy skirt changed the whole look. It would have been a different story if I chose to wear faux leather jeggings, right?

By the way, STYLISTA, INC. recently launched its 18th collection and guess what? Peplum tops like the one I’m featuring are there! Be the first to get one for yourself. ;)

On a serious note, I know that a lot of Filipinos are facing the most tragic phase of their lives. Recently, typhoon “Pablo” hit the Philippine shores with its raging winds, traveling at 210 kph. Several lives have been lost and families left abandoned. Along with the title of this post comes the call for help and hope that the sun will shine again on the people devastated by the typhoon. We’ll get through this just like how we surpassed the innumerable challenges we’ve had before. Trials like this bring out the best in us as Filipinos and collectively as a nation.

Surely, the sun will shine again.

Little Miss Sunshine

I know it’s been a while since I updated my blog. I just had a whirlwind of errands lately. Hope you understand. :(

Going back to our track…..Tadah! Another outfit post! haha

Peplum tops and dresses have been a crazy trend these days. You can see them anywhere—–from magazines, fashion blogs, shops and the long list goes on. Earlier this year, I had a first glimpse of peplum skirts and I never thought this would hit Philippine shores too soon. Never did I imagine myself wearing one. Yes, believe me when I say that.   ;)

tricky tip: Always remember that not all fashion trends suit one’s body type so might as well scrutinize an item first before you actually purchase it . See if it looks good on you or flatters your body shape. You don’t want to end up being a fashion victim, do you? ;)

Speaking of fashion trendscut-outs made its mark in fashion runways as well.

So I thought, why not mix both in one look? :D

And that’s how I came up with this:

Whoa! Now this is what you call two trends rolled into one! What more can I say? :D

Looks like I ended up loving peplums as well! ;)

I spiced up the look with a candy-colored tribal skirt. This looks more bright and vivid up close! When I saw this skirt, I fell in love with it right away.  Well, fashion love that is. How’s that even possible? I think I’m going cuhrazee again. ;)

A good set of rings deserves a close-up shot.
tricky tip: If you’ve noticed, I’ve piled up two rings in my index finger. Yep, that’s right! You can put rings on top of another just like what most people do with bangles or bracelets.
When we talk about accessories, gold never goes out of style.

For those of you who might be wondering what lip shade I’m wearing, it’s More To Love by MAC.

Hope you’re having a bright and sunny day!

Until my next post! ;)

Preppy Plaid

Hey there!

I woke up early today to run a few errands. As luck would have it, I finished the first on my to-do list earlier than expected. That means one thing—–I can snip off a bit of my time to update my blog. YAAAAAY! :D

It’s me channeling the preppy girl look.

A brown leather bag, plaid dress with puffy sleeves, and a nude-colored oxfords are certainly present in every school girl’s closet.

You can own a plaid dress from STYLISTA,INC. by clicking this.

If you’re too languid to click the link, oh well I am here to make things easier for you :)

Tadaaah! * just like a fashion fairy godmother*

Ooops! Gotta go, guys! Have a nice day! :D

Paint The Town Pink

This is what I wore a while ago. Since I was running out of time to dress up, I just grabbed this pink floral number and added nothing else. I just wanted to wear something simple and not over-the-top.

Tricky tip: Whenever you’re in a hurry, a cute printed dress always comes in handy.

Never thought it would rhyme that way! hihi I guess that would be my fashion mantra from now on. *wink

If you’ve been reading my blog for quite some time, you probably figured that I love wearing anything classic. As much as possible, I like to stick with what’s basic. Nevertheless, I try to add interesting pieces just to swerve away from being  plain and boring.

Since I wanted to paint the world pink, I decided to go all the way with the said color scheme —-from top to bottom! haha And oh, the two-toned clutch given by my best friend, Chokie, complemented my dress perfectly!

By the way, pleated dresses will be included in STYLISTA,INC.’s 11th Collection which will be released next week.Yep, you heard me right! For updates, like us on facebook by clicking this.

The shoes marched along the pink parade as well! ;)

Add a tinge of blue and gold to your look with the use of accessories like the ones below:

Here’s another tricky tip: Observe how a bag changes the look in just a blink of an eye! You can use a floral satchel during daytime and switch to a two-toned clutch when Mr. Sun says bye-bye. An envelope bag or a clutch instantly glams up every look for any night event you have in mind.

Hope you like it!

PS: I’m planning to update my blog every other day or if time permits, I’d like blogging to be part of my daily routine.  I might try it next month. Well, let’s see if my clock ticks with me. *keeping my fingers (and my toes) crossed* LOLJK

What do you think?;)

Color Duet

Blue and orange may be an unlikely combination but I’d like to prove that wrong! ;)

With the right accessories and pieces to match the top, you’re on the right track.

Tricky tip: Just keep in mind to balance the look with toned down numbers like the one I used : simple white shorts and gladiator sandals. In this way, the lovely colors of the top will still be noticed.

The tribal beads of my dangling earrings and the studded leather bracelets all the more added accents of orange/rustic appeal to the garment.

You see, it isn’t that bad right?

Here’s the good news! STYLISTA, INC. recently launched its 10th Collection! :) And guess what? Two-toned tops and lace shorts are up for grabs! Click this if you want to have one for yourself. ;)

You can choose from a variety of unique color combinations such as:

Salmon Pink and Sky Blue

Hot Pink and Yellow

Sky Blue and Light Brown

Feel free to take your pick! ;)

Sleeveless top and shorts (STYLISTA, INC.) | Gladiator sandals and Studded leather bracelets (Bangkok) | Dangling Earrings (bazaar) |

What unusual color combination would you like to mix and match? ;)

Tribal Treat

Yeah! Going cuhrazeee over anything tribal in print! I’ve had aztec-inspired pieces before but I just can’t get enough of this fashion madness! Bagged these tops and skirts from online shops lately and I can’t wait to wear them!

What’s your fashion craze these days?

A Day of Firsts

Hi there! :D I’m back into the blogosphere!

Since I missed you all, here’s a long post for all my dear readers out there. :)

My sister, cousins and I had been planning on trying out Zorb-ing for the first time! Yaaaaaay!! Finally, we had a day spent just for that and the rest of our must-try-while-we-are-still-young stuff ! :D Hence, the title of this post.

I prepped myself for this EPIC day by wearing something comfy and easy breezy. Yep, that spells out into a midrib top, high-waist floral shorts and high-cut oxfords.

Simple yet not boring :)

To complete the look, I adorned my wrist with friendship bracelets made by my bestfriend, Chokie. She even named a bracelet after me! Weeeee!! How cool is that? :D

Tricky tip: Match them with a classic watch to add an interesting contrast. Tribal and classic rolled into one! I just love innovating trends and styles to suit my taste! *wink* ;)

By the way, you can order these oh so cute friendship bracelets via Etsy by clicking this.

I topped off my polka midrib number with a nude-colored cardigan to cover the areas I’d rather keep hidden. teehee Of course, I don’t want to go full monty on the world! Ha! :D

Now that’s more appropriate for a sunny day-out with ze lovelies!

A sling bag from Soul Lifestyle would be a nice add-on for your essentials to be slipped in. The color perfectly complements the color scheme of my look, don’t you agree?

Midrib Top (Solenad) | High-waist floral shorts (STYLISTA,INC.)  |  High-cut Oxfords (Bangkok) | Sling bag (SOUL Lifestyle) | Friendship bracelets (Chokie’s Etsy Shop) | Watch (Aldo)  |

Here’s another tricky tip: Tresses are often, if not, always taken for granted. Trust me, I know that too well. (Oops! Looks like somebody’s guilty as charged! hihihi) Yeah! I must admit, it is a known fact among my closest friends that I don’t really care what my hair looks like but it pays to give it a little attention once in a while, right?  ;)

Alter your look in an instant by trying out hair styles that correspond to the the style you’re going for! In my case, I thought a fishtail braid might do the trick!

Since I’ve started talking about hair stuff and all, might as well show you these thin buddies who’ve been doing the business of covering my scalp for the past 22 years of my existence! Hooraaay mister hairrrrr! Wuut?? Did I just yell out a lame cheer for my H.A.I.R.??  *going nuts*

Disclaimer: I’m NOT crazy. I’m just nuts SOMETIMES. LOL yeaaaaah, just the same!

Enough of my hair story. Let me talk about the experience behind this post.

Whoa! The man in-charge of the park told me that this ride’s gonna take only 20 seconds. So I thought, 20 seconds?? That’s just a piece of cheesycake! *deep inside I was screaming out for HEEEELP* Oh goooosh, pulling out a poker face helped a lot!

So, he was absolutely right!

I shouted and screamed at the top of my lungs for about 20 epic seconds which I reckon as the LOOOOOOOOOOONGEST 20 SECONDS OF MY LIFE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Jumping Joyce right there! ——->

Just can’t get over the fact that I DID IT! HAHAHAHA

It is funny how we looked like hamsters trapped in bubbles of plastic as if we’re being experimented on by giant mad scientists or whoever! haha

After that hormone-releasing activity at Crocodile Park, we went one step lower by relaxing at Villa de Mercedes.

Seeing nothing else but blue

Can this night get any better? Totally this place is the perfect rendezvous for family getaways and chill-out nights! :D

In the stillness of the night

Meet my elder sister and cousins, Ate Lian and Abby. :)

Thank you sissy for taking most of the pics! :) The last one is my fave. It reminds me of a mirage in a desert.

PS: I don’t know if you’ve noticed but I added a feature in this post. I’ve decided to sprinkle “tricky tips” along the way. I just conjured this up while typing. Let me know what your thoughts are regarding this. I’d love to hear from you :)

Have a great day ahead! :D

Bitten by Reality

I usually don’t talk about personal stuff here but allow me to do this for the first time, if not, the last.

I just received a call from a friend who broke the news about a good college friend of mine who passed away few hours ago. I’m deeply sorry for his family’s loss. It just hurts to know that someone like him had been taken away this early. Along with this, I’ve also heard the news about the burial of my high school batchmate. As much as I’d want to say more, words couldn’t flow out.

Emptiness. Solitude. Tranquility.

That’s all I could think of.

Life offers us a myriad of reasons to be thankful for each day that passes by……may it be a birth of hope or a death of suffering……..may it be our first or last.

To my friends who’ve been up there first, we’ll always remember the happiness you brought in our lives. Our prayers will always be with you.

Until we breathe our last.

Life’s a Garden

Again, I apologize for the 2-week blogging break. Thank you to those who dropped by even if I had no updates or whatsoever. Well, my day’s not typically bright and good. To make things peachier, I’m not even sure if I’ll be able to come up with a decent post but I’m doing this so that you’ll be left with something to read (or not). Gosh! Do I, in any way, make sense? O.o

Just pretend you didn’t read the first part, okay?

So yeah, off we go.

As the title implies, this look was primarily inspired by a garden full of blooms. I could only imagine myself soaking up the sunniest sunshine and lying on the greenest lawn until I get intoxicated by the sweet and almost hypnotizing aroma of flowers of every kind. *dreamy me*

So instead of just indulging myself in fanciful daydreaming, might as well wear something that reminds me of it the whole time!

A pot of flowers (thanks to the lovely top)— check!

The blue velvet sky (the skirt clearly screams it out) — check!

A ray of sunshine (as evidenced by the shoes)– ✓✓double check!

And oh, did I ever mention about the interesting peek-a-boo detail at the back?

This photo’s a tad bit blurry but I kinda like it! teehee

Floral top (Solenad) | Shoes (Celine)

Finish the whole look with a fish tail braid and now, you’re ready!

Allow me to insert pics of what I did few weeks ago, ok?

Welcome to Cellar de Oboza, the perfect spot to dine in with friends and family.

Old Wood Charm

Of all the classic dishes I’ve tasted that night, this unbelievably-crispy-on-the-outside-yet-tender-fish-surprise-inside emerged to be the winner! And with that said, I barely remember the name of the dish. I think my description wouldn’t even suffice how heavenly it tasted. And the Guava Tamarind Sauce? I can’t even start on how to give an account of the playful mix of gustatory madness my taste buds enjoyed!

How on earth can a place so cozy and laid-back be situated right in the heart of Davao City?

With my pretty sister and cousins, Ate Lian and Abby :)

How’s your day going so far? ;)
