Nothing But Casual

It’s been quite a long time since I posted something here. My life has just been through  unexpected twists and turns lately. Hope you understand why I wasn’t able to update for the past few weeks.

This is what I wore on a casual day with Shey yesterday. In case you’re wondering, she’s the one who took my photos other than my sister. I never had a chance to take snaps of her though. Might as well do that next time. ;)

I wasn’t really expecting I’d be wearing an all-black ensemble because I usually don’t. Neutrals, pastels and anything classic define my sense of style most of the time but not every time. I make it a point to try different shades and prints to keep things interesting. In a nutshell, I experiment a lot. More often than not, what I wear sort of signifies my mood on that day.

Black may not be a common choice for a bright sunny day out but it may not look out of place if you pair it with a tribal maxi skirt. I wanted to wear something classic yet somehow laid-back and casual.

Now who says you can’t fuse two seemingly contrasting styles in one look?

Watch (Aldo) | Flats (Bangkok)

Feel free to skip this part if you’re not interested in anything mundane. haha! I know my hair is unkempt in this picture (well most of the time it is). Blame it on my love-hate relationship with Mr. Comb! Dunno why but I’m used to not having him! It’s rare that you’d see me combing my hair! Yeah! I figured that was such a long explanation why my hair’s like that. Random thought is random! haha Just saying…

So in the next couple of seconds, I may or may not make you drool over these splendiferous and bud-tickling stomach fillers. Just had to warn you. :D

These babies made my tummy so happy! teehee

I am and will always be a Japanese food enthusiast. Bow.

Fashion and food combined in one post— cheeeeck! :)

How’s your day going? :)

Of Art and Concrete

A friend of mine coined this idea of “hotel hopping” since his friends from Manila are coming over. The agenda: to spot a cozy crib for them to stay. Wish us luck!

(Note: The first photo is in no way related to what this post is all about. Just saying ;) )

In a nutshell, I reckon we hopped by a bunch of hotels—maybe 7? The picture above was taken at Las Casitas Inn. One thing I adore about the place is its homey ambiance with a touch of traditional Filipino embellishments in every corner. Wish I could have taken more snaps to show you what I mean. :(

Anyhoo, there was this particular hotel which caught our eyes and I must say tugged my artistic side in an unexpected way! Ponce Suites welcomed its visitors with neck-breaking sculptures guarding the whole estate, eccentric wall art strewn aesthetically to please its beholder, rows and columns of everyday things clumped intricately to form modern art pieces waiting to be deciphered only by keen onlookers and the long list goes on. You’ll feast your eyes on nothing but pure art at its rustic magnificence!

Kublai Ponce-Millan is the father of all these visually stimulating works of art…and life. He never fails to amuse people from all walks of life passing by his captivating nest.

From what I noticed, these look like nymphs of nature tacked onto marble slates.

Textured and Metallic

I don’t have a clue who was he trying to depict here, but I’m quite sure these portraits resemble Jesus. Looking through His eyes expressed the emotion implied in each framed masterpiece.

There’s something eerily interesting about this photo. Is it just me or the symmetrical painting hung stock-still on the wall? Not to mention the deserted hallway….. It gives me the creeps every time!

Tribal Art

From afar, it seems like a wall loaded with squared photos and scribbles, right?

Up close, these are poetic and proverbial notes conveying what the picture beside it is all about.

Thought-provoking. Heart-evoking.

There lies a restobar atop this artsy reverie. We can’t help but take a decent group picture beside the humongous gecko.

This is what I wore bee tee dubs. All blue and casual for a day like this. To break the monotony, I finished the look with a pair of two-toned ballet flats (Of course, blue had to be there! hehe). Also, I’m currently crazy about beanie hats! dunno why!

We left the gallery hotel with eyes delighted and art-loving souls gratified. ;)

Which piece of art is your fave?

Put a Ribbon on It

My sister, Shey and I did a bubbly photoshoot last Saturday to launch STYLISTA, INC’s All Dolled Up Collection.

For a change, we decided to shoot indoors this time.

The funny thing is, I literally had to grab anything from the shoe rack because we barely had time to prepare. I never knew the x-strapped wedges matched pretty well with my dress until I saw the shots. Whew! *A sigh of relief here*

I don’t know if you’ve noticed but I tweaked my hair color a wee bit. If you ask me what color it is exactly, I really can’t figure it out myself. I might just try to post about this next time. ;)

Enough of my random hair story, feel free to check out our All Dolled Up Collection here.  ;)

Have a nice day guys!
