I’ve been requested to be one of the judges for “Gawad Pedro 2012“ which is an award-giving body hosted by my alma mater. Mind you I was floating on air when I first knew about it but I just had to keep my lips sealed before everything took place.
This is an annual event wherein clubs and organizations as well as individuals in school are recognized because of their exemplary performance in leadership, service and extra curricular activities. The process of interviewing around 60 nominees in several categories and deliberating them one by one to make sure the most deserving individual or club bags the award was NO JOKE because each of them was good in his or her own right. But I and the other two judges had to scrutinize every nook and crook to pick out the BEST.
The theme was mardi gras; hence the masks, feathers and a hodgepodge of golds, greens, and other colors which remind me of carnivals and merrymaking.
I thought of the said color scheme when I grabbed the gold sleeveless top and mustard yellow mullet skirt from my closet. I’ll tell you the story behind this in my upcoming post.
The belles and beaus who caught my eye.
They all look so stunning, don’t you agree?
Thank you to the Saligan officers for inviting me over. Surely this event would be one of my most cherished memories; one which I’d look back years from now and smile about. I wouldn’t end this post without congratulating all the winners and nominees in all categories! You all deserve a pat on the back for a job well done this year! Continue empowering other people and lighting the candle of change.
